The criminal was lynched to death by an angry mob
A suspected armed robber has met his death while attempting to rob a mobile money operator of his money. He was lynched by a mob at Kasseh in the Ada East District of the Greater Accra Region, Ghana.
The Daily Guide reports that the unidentified armed robber, together with an accomplice on unregistered motorbike, attacked the mobile money operator with a knife and asked him to surrender his handbag containing money. The victim resisted and raised an alarm which attracted a mob. The rider, who sensed danger, sped off, leaving the pillion rider to his fate. The pillion rider, who attempted to escape, was given a hot chase.
After catching up with him, the mob tied him with a nylon rope and struck him with stones, sticks and cement blocks which led to his death.
His lifeless body has been deposited at the Fatekope Government Hospital morgue in Ada, pending autopsy.
The police, who arrived on the scene, later discovered stones and concrete blocks on the body of the deceased. Mathew Fiagbor, a tailor in the area, was reported to have sustained several knife wounds when he tried to assist in the arrest of the deceased. He is currently receiving treatment at the Health Star Clinic at Kasseh in Ada
