A man who tried to make away with a woman's baby in a supermarket while she was busy shopping, has luckily been stopped. This is the unbelievable moment a man was caught trying to steal a woman's baby.
A CCTV captured the bizarre moment the man tried to snatch a baby girl from a shopping trolley while her mum’s back was turned.
According to The Sun UK, the woman has been identified as Florence Monauer, 33.
She was shopping with her 14-month-old daughter in H-Mart, in Houston, Texas, US, when a man allegedly grabbed the girl.
Disturbing footage shows a man lifting the child from the seat of a shopping trolley while her mum was looking at an item on a shelf.
Moments later, when she hears a rustle coming from her trolley, Florence turns around to confront the man who has picked up her daughter – without her permission.
The horrified mum claims the stranger gave no explanation for his action and the only words he spoke were directed towards her child.
Florence recalled: “At no point did he talk to me. He never asked me to pick up my baby.
"He said the strangest thing to me, ‘I wanted to take you when your mum wasn’t looking.’
The man walked away after being caught by the baby's mother
The man, who allegedly didn't have a shopping cart, immediately left the scene after returning the child back to her mother.
Terrified mum Florence reported the incident to police and managed to get a hold of the CCTV footage from the store.
She added: "It gave me chills just thinking that this could've happened to my child and it may happen to someone else. I definitely want him to get caught."
The man is described as white and around 6 feet 1 inch tall and appears to be in his early 50s.
Cops are investigating the incident as an attempted abduction.
